Le Roy WhiteheadDr. Le Roy Whitehead has enjoyed 38 years in education.  He has recently retired from the Delaware Academy for School Leadership at the University of Delaware School Succes Center where he taught principal certification courses and provided professional development to school districts throughout the state of Delaware.  Prior to that, Dr. Whitehead retired from Pennsylvania public school service as the assistant superintendent of the Phoenixville Area School District where he oversaw all district daily operations, academic programming and professional development.  He worked with district staff to establish professional learning communities, led the transition to a new teacher evaluation system, implemented a new learning management system, and supervised the construction of two new elementary schools. 

Dr. Whitehead completed his doctoral degree at Neumann University, his master’s degree at Rider University, and his bachelor’s degree in music education at Lebanon Valley College.  For 21 years he served the West Chester Area School District, the Oxford Area School District, and the Rumson Fair Haven School District, as principal and assistant principal at the middle and high school levels.  He began his career as an elementary and secondary vocal music teacher for eight years in NJ.  Over his career as an educator, he’s also enjoyed being a guest band conductor, church music director, presenting at numerous professional conferences, and is currently serving as a disaster action team member for the Southeastern PA Chapter of the Red Cross.  Dr. Whitehead has served as President of the Board of Directors for the Communities that Care and is currently serving on the advisory board for the Chester County Department of Children, Youth and Families.
